Have A Special Night At The Red Kettle Gala

November 18th, 2019 by

Each year while many of us are warm, cozy, and celebrating the holiday season with our family and friends, those less fortunate are experiencing winter at its worst. The Salvation Army serves to bridge the gap that exists, and provides hot meals, nights of shelter, clothing, and more to those in need in East Stroudsburg. Part of how the Salvation Army funds their services is their famous Red Kettle campaign, where volunteers stand with the Red Kettles and bells, asking for kind donations from passersby. Unfortunately, the campaign alone doesn’t generate enough money to fund the Salvation Army, so in 2016 local business owners Charlie and Vincent Trapasso, owners of the Deskai restaurant, offered to host the Red Kettle Gala at their restaurant, at no cost to the Salvation Army, to help raise funds for the organization. This is the sixth year of the gala, and all money raised goes towards the Salvation Army.

Red Kettle Gala Event Details

This year the gala will be held on Friday, December 6 at Deskai restaurant in the Garden Room as usual. The gala begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour with hors d’oeuvres, then moves into a surf and turf dinner at 7 p.m., followed by dancing and dessert to wrap up the evening.

Over the years, over $150,000 has been raised from the annual Red Kettle Gala, and that number will only increase this year! Treat yourself to a special night out while you give back to a good cause – is there anything better?

If you’re interested in purchasing tickets or advertising space in the event’s program, you can contact Rose London Rose.London@Use.SalvationArmy.org to RSVP.

The Salvation Army’s Mission

The proceeds from the gala are used to accomplish the Salvation Army’s mission in East Stroudsburg, and helps to fund feeding the community’s less fortunate with hot meals, assisting folks with their rent, providing low-cost clothing, as well as providing Christmas toys for children, visits to nursing homes, and emergency disaster assistance.
