Visit The Nurture Nature Center
The natural beauty of the world is something that deserves to be protected. That’s the mission behind the Nurture Nature Center. This center seeks to engage and educate the public about environmental risks and ways to counteract them. Visitors by the thousands come to the center each year to take in a variety of art and science exhibits and learn more about the world around them.
Visiting the Center
Housed in a historic building in downtown Easton, the Nurture Nature Center invites visitors to learn more about threats to our environment through educational programming, exhibits, and art. The Nurture Nature Center is located at 518 Northampton Street, Easton, PA 18042. It’s open to the public Wednesdays noon to 4 p.m., Thursdays 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays noon to 4 p.m.
Visitors to the center can view a variety of educational science exhibits, several art galleries, and an urban recycle garden. Make sure to explore these exhibits:
- Science on a Sphere – This breathtaking display is a room-sized animated globe that wows viewers with its moving depictions of hurricanes, earthquakes, climate change, transportation, and planetary science.
- Science on a Sphere Explorer – Take control of the Sphere with this touchscreen kiosk to learn more about what interests you most – weather, geology, transportation, and more.
- Interactive Watershed Exhibit – This augmented reality sandbox encourages hands-on exploration. Simulated water shows a realistic depiction of watershed science. The exhibit is also color-coded based on elevation to promote learning about map reading and topography.
- Permanent Art Exhibits – Take in a variety of art on display at the center, including a wall mural of Alexis Rockman’s “Manifest Destiny” and Tom Maxfield’s “Living Local.” You’ll also find a Delaware River mural, a collection of nature photographs, a historic look at flooding, and many other works in the hallways and foyers.
